Samuel shares his story, “I am who I am today because of my parents, especially my mom. Besides being my pillar of strength, my mom was also the person who introduced the violin to me when I was just 6 years old.
She made sure to source for the best teachers who were able to understand my ability and needs. I enjoyed the freedom of creative expression as my mom always supported my exploration of different instruments and genres of music.
I remember watching the musical ‘Cats’ for the first time, also when I was 6 My father had bought the disc and my family watched it together. Although I did not understand the musical, I enjoyed the music very much. My favourite piece of music happens to be from the musical – 'Memory' by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Years later, my parents brought me to watch the stage performance of ‘Cats’, which was a huge inspiration for my musical journey.”
